A class of 15 university students hopes to find breaks in three decades-old homicide investigations.

Dallas County Judge Veretta Frazier ruled in favor of a temporary injunction on Friday for Rodeo Dallas in Deep Ellum, closing the bar until further notice.

The ruling from a Dallas County judge comes nearly a month after a temporary restraining order closed Rodeo Dallas.

Dallas police say the man was holding a knife and threatening to harm himself and others in the house.

Rodeo Dallas was closed due to allegations that its business practices were a nuisance to the Deep Ellum neighborhood.

A summer spike in crime led to concern from Deep Ellum businesses and residents. But after police started closing the streets at 10 p.m., some are concerned it could hurt nightlife in the entertainment district.

Cindy Rodriguez-Singh has not been seen in the U.S. since March 2023, according to law enforcement.

The temporary restraining order was filed the same week after Rodeo Dallas closed due to leasing violations and later reopened.

Andrew James McGann has been charged with two counts of capital murder in the killing Saturday of 43-year-old Clinton David Brink and 41-year-old Cristen Amanda Brink. McGann was once employed at Donald Elementary School in Flower Mound.

Police said 23-year-old Bryan Cruz-Campos was fighting with another unidentified man in a parking lot early Sunday morning when Cruz-Campos fired a handgun.

More police presence and street closures are part of the city of Dallas' response to public safety concerns in the Deep Ellum entertainment district.
