The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: The deadly Paris attacks on Friday that killed 129 people has shocked the world.  Sihem Bouhallouf, who lives in the Paris suburbs, was visiting her Dallas-based employer when the attacks occurred Friday.

The self-proclaimed Islamic State says it’s behind the attacks. Bouhallouf is a Muslim and she says peace-loving Muslims have also been victims of terrorists. She welcomes the international condemnation of those responsible for the Paris attacks.

Governor Greg Abbott has called for a moment of silence today at noon to honor victims of the attack.
