Gov. Greg Abbott signed a number of high-profile bills yesterday - and broke out his veto pen as well.

Among the bills he signed include a measure that would let voters decide whether to dismantle Dallas County Schools, the regional bus operator for 12 North Texas school districts. Abbott also signed a bill overhauling how schools and districts are graded.

He also vetoed 50 bills, the most for a Texas governor in a decade.
