Top Stories: Dallas City Council Approves New City Manager; Top Judges Gather In North Texas

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News:

The Dallas City Council on Wednesday voted in T.C. Broadnax as the next city manager. He’s been in charge of Tacoma, Wash. since 2012. Prior to that, he was San Antonio’s Assistant City Manager for five years.

  • Many of the Lone Star State’s top judges gathered at Paul Quinn College in Dallas Wednesday. The Texas Supreme Court and the state’s Court of Criminal Appeals organized a conference at the historically black college. 

  • A North Texas program is working to protect big cats around the world by trying to better understand the voices of tigers. Courtney Dunn works with the Dallas World Aquarium and is founder of the ‘The Prusten Project.’ Dunn joins KERA’s Justin Martin to talk about the program's mission.
