Top Stories: Housing The Homeless In Dallas; Women Get Funding For Mosquito Repellent

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: Housing 600 homeless people in Dallas will cost $9 million in just the first year. That’s according to recommendations presented on Wednesday to the City Council by the Dallas Commission on Homelessness.

  • The latest part of the plan to fight the Zika virus is to hand out mosquito repellent. Starting next week, Texas Medicaid will offer repellent to expectant mothers and women between the ages of 10 and 45.
