The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: The Belo Foundation last week gave Dallas $30 million to build four parks downtown. That’s good news for a city that consistently ranks in the middle in the annual ParkScore index, which rates park space.

Willis Winters, director of the Dallas Park and Recreation department, talks about why downtown parks are a major concern in the Friday Conversation.

Also this morning:

Maryland-based Dance Exchange is in Dallas this week. It’s a different kind of company that’s using dance and song to draw out the conflicts in Dallas’ racial history.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:20 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
