From The Newsroom: North Texas Air Quality; Experimental Hearing Implants

The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: The American Lung Association released its annual State of the Air report. The Dallas-Fort Worth area ranks 7th on their list of most ozone-polluted metropolitan areas. 

Also, cochlear implants have helped many regain their hearing, but they don't work for everyone. Some are turning to an experimental procedure.

Finally, a report from the Office of Veterans Affairs found that each day, 22 veterans take their own lives.
