The Trinity River has been a source of contention in Dallas, mostly over the city's plans to build a parkway between the levees.

The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: The Army Corp of Engineers yesterday approved plans the Trinity River Corridor project, which calls for parks and improved levees along the river in Dallas. The Corp's decisiondidn't directly address the controversial Trinity Parkway.

Also, astudy from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas looks at colonias, the small communities located near the Texas-Mexico border.
