Body camera footage shows a Waymo car sideways in the street blocking a Dallas constable from responding to an apartment that exploded in Oak Cliff on May 28.

Uber partner Avride is under investigation for self-driving car crashes involving its automated system that caused property damage and one minor injury.

While the encounter didn’t significantly hinder response to the shooting, it has raised concerns about the vehicles as they expand to more Texas cities and before new state regulations kick in.

The autonomous vehicle company is expanding its ride-hailing services to Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. Select riders will receive invitations to ride on Tuesday, with other new riders admitted on a rolling basis.
