David Chappelle won the Grand Prairie District 3 seat with 64.9% of the vote, per unofficial results Saturday night.

Residents urged Grand Prairie leaders to explain the cancellation of a private Eid celebration at Epic Waters after Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to withhold state funding from the city.

Grand Prairie voters headed to the polls to decide whether to grant the city up to $327 million in bond funding for local projects. As of Sunday morning, all proposals appear to have been approved, although margins vary.

Dolores Huerta Drive spans multiple blocks in the heart of the city, intersecting with Main Street and passing by both Grand Prairie City Hall and the Dallas County Government Center. It also runs alongside the famous Grand Prairie Farmers Market.

Former Texas House representative and former Dallas County Republican Party chair Rodney Anderson won the special runoff election for Grand Prairie City Council Place 8 on Saturday.

Mike Del Bosque, who represented District 3 in the Grand Prairie City Council since 2017, died Friday.
