The executive director of the United Educators Association told trustees during a special school board meeting March 11 that he feels something for the district he hasn’t in a long time:

Karen Molinar and the school board now must wait a state-mandated 21 days before officially hiring her as Fort Worth ISD’s next superintendent.

Molinar knew what she had to do: Make the unpopular decision for the sake of students. Oakhurst Elementary needed a student-centered culture to thrive, she said, and she was going to make it happen.

Fort Worth ISD will pay former Superintendent Angélica Ramsey $544,463 to buy out her contract, according to her exit agreement with the school board.

The school board is expected to meet behind closed doors Sept. 24 to discuss Ramsey’s contract — then emerge for a public meeting where they will consider taking action.

The Fort Worth ISD superintendent told the school board that it breached her contract subsequent to her evaluation in January, according to an email obtained by the Fort Worth Report.
