Marjorie Welch Fitts Louis FellowSolomon Wilson is KERA's Marjorie Welch Fitts Louis Fellow. He focuses on covering racial equity, women’s rights, socioeconomic disparities and other evolving issues of social justice in our community.
A Texas native from San Antonio, Solomon has a long-standing passion for storytelling.
Graduating a bachelor's degree in multimedia communications with a minor in women and gender studies from Texas A&M San Antonio, he strives to continue to highlight stories from underserved communities.
Solomon was a part of NPRs Next Generation Radio Texas newsroom for the year 2020 where he covered a local LGBTQ+ shelter for the unhoused.
During that time, he also wrote stories for his university’s Editorial publication El Espejo Magazine which he later assisted in leading as Co-editor in Chief and Design Editor during his final semester.
As the inaugural Marjorie Louis Fellow at KERA, he hopes to "set a solid path for future fellows to follow."
