Top Stories: A New Opera Remembers JFK In North Texas; Finding Housing After Leaving Tent City

fwopera.org

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: Fort Worth Opera premieres a new work Saturday. It’s called “JFK” and it recounts President Kennedy’s final night, which was spent in Fort Worth.

The opera blends other forgotten facts with fantasy in a story that some are calling the most anticipated new American opera this season.

Tent City is the homeless camp under an overpass near downtown Dallas. Part of it closed this week, and everyone’s supposed to be out by May 4. For those having to leave, they are finding it's tough to find permanent housing in booming North Texas.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:22 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
