Watch: This Texas Political Ad Will Get You Through The Rest Of Election Season

Gerald Daughtery Campaign

It’s been an exhausting election season, to say the least. Between three painstaking presidential debates, the ever-changing political hue of Texas (red, blue, purple, etc.), and what we can only imagine extended relatives everywhere are saying on Facebook, many of us are running on fumes.
In fact, a new survey says more than a third of social media users are "worn out" by the amount of political content they encounter, NPR reports.

As the remaining days of the 2016 election season drag on, something new and lighthearted has appeared on the internet in the form of a local political TV ad.

In a commercial for Travis County Commissioner Gerald Daugherty, his wife, Charlyn pleads for voters to re-elect her husband, so he’ll get out of the house and relieve her of his nonstop talk of county issues. Charlyn says her Republican husband doesn't have any hobbies and just wants to "fix things.”

She implores Travis County voters to, "Please re-elect Gerald," and the ad concludes as she plaintively — think NBC's "The Office" or "Parks & Recreation" — turns to the camera: "Please!"","_id":"00000174-20e3-d47e-a1f7-72e7e2660000","_type":"035d81d3-5be2-3ed2-bc8a-6da208e0d9e2"}">">","_id":"00000174-20e3-d47e-a1f7-72e7e2660000","_type":"035d81d3-5be2-3ed2-bc8a-6da208e0d9e2"}">
