Local stories this morning from KERA News:Affluenza teen Ethan Couch is back in Texas and now in a juvenile detention facility in Fort Worth. A hearing this morning will determine whether he remains there, transferred to adult jail, or released.

Authorities believe 18-year-old Couch and his mother fled to Mexico in December as Texas prosecutors investigated whether he violated his probation for a deadly drunk driving case.

Because he Couch was 16 at the time of the wreck, a juvenile court’s handling his case for now. Another hearing next month will determine if the case moves to the adult system.
