The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: Officials in Ellis and Rockwall counties say they've been told to expect more than 800 unaccompanied minors from Central America.

The children, mostly boys between the ages of 12 and 18, will be in the two privately-owned camps for 21 days until they can be placed with sponsoring families.

Other stories this morning:

  • The White House is challenging Dallas to beat out 19 other communities in getting residents to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. If the city wins, it’ll get a visit from the President.
  • How many ways can filmmakers remake “Macbeth”? A new version, out Friday, stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:20 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
