From The Newsroom: Judge Denies Request To Block Syrian Refugees; A Male Hooters

The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: A federal judge in Dallas denied the state’s latest request to keep Syrian refugees out of Texas.

 The state’s motion cited a new report that federal officials are worried terrorist groups could get into the country through the refugee resettlement process.

KERA’s Stella Chavez reports on what we know about the Syrian family that settled in Dallas this week.

There’s a certain kind of dining experience at places like Hooters, Twin Peaks and the Tilted Kilt Pub. They’re known as “breastaurants" and they’re a hit in Texas. Well, a new dining spot has opened in Dallas’s Oak Lawn neighborhood. Instead of waitresses wearing miniskirts, it features waiters in bikini shorts.
