From The Newsroom: North Texas Giving Day Results; Surviving Everest

The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: Yesterday's North Texas Giving Day netted a record number of donations - more than $33 million over the course of 18 hours. 

Also, dancer and choreographer Twyla Tharp is celebrating her 50th anniversary with two new works premiering in Dallas. 

Finally, the film "Everest" is based on the true story of a 1996 attempt to climb Mount Everest. Eight people died, but Dallas doctor Beck Weathers survived. He talks about seeing his story on the big screen in this week's Friday Conversation.
