The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom:  Kent Scribner is Fort Worth’s new superintendent after the school board made it official last night. Scribner will start the new job in mid-October.

Also, the Dallas Landmark Commission yesterday gave the green light on giving the Lakewood Theater a landmark designation.
