Dallas, TX – About 200,000 fans jammed the victory parade route in Dallas today to cheer on the world champion Mavericks basketball team. KERA's Bill Zeeble was there.

It was hot and crowded but the celebration was joyous for the Mavs players and employees who rolled by in cars & floats. When Most Valuable Player Dirk Werner Nowitzki and some team mates passed by, the crowd got even louder.

Mavs fan Javier Segura was holding a giant German flag, to make sure his favorite player noticed.

Segura: Kidd is my 2nd favorite player and dirk is my favorite player and I figured if I brought a german flag and held it above everyhone he'd be able to see it..

Inside the American Airlines Arena, Nowitzki smiled nearly non- stop, held his hands up high, & praised everyone for the championship.

Nowitzki: It's been an amazing ride, amazing journey, I was lucky enough to spend 13 years with the greatest fans of the NBA. Lot of ups and lot of downs, this is the top of the iceberg and it feels absolutely amazing.

Police reported no major incidents, just one fight that led to 3 arrests.
