Economy Project: Job Scams

By Sam Baker, KERA Morning Edition Host

Dallas, TX –

Many people have gone months or more without work since the recession hit. Pressured by bills and a need to get life back to normal, they can be perfect targets for scam artists. Jeannette Kopko of the Better Business Bureau told KERA's Sam Baker the agency has identified schemes ranging from the old-fashioned work-at-home pitch to offers of glamorous, high-paying jobs that don't exist.

Jeannette Kopko is Senior Vice President of Communications for the Dallas Better Business Bureau.
