The IRS tomorrow continues its campaign to remind certain people about an available benefit as they prepare their tax returns.
The Earned Income Tax Credit can range from a few hundred dollars to more than $5,600 - depending on how many children you have, if any. That can mean the difference between owing money and getting a refund for low and moderate income people who qualify.
Clay Sanford of the IRS adds it's still possible to receive the tax credit if you received unemployment benefits last year.
Clay Sanford: Let's say you were only drawing unemployment compensation for half of last year, but you were employed for the other half. You may still qualify with the earned income that you had during the first part of the year.during the first part of the year.
The IRS will hold workshops about the Earned Income Tax Credit tomorrow at IRS offices in Farmers Branch at 4050 Alpha Road and at 1100 Commerce in Dallas.
