Dallas, TX – If the streets of Fort Worth seem a little empty this weekend it may be because TCU Horned Frogs fans have flocked to Pasadena, California. Their team is playing their in their first Rose Bowl game. KERA's Shelley Kofler caught up with Kristi Hoban of the alumni association. Hoban says being in this bowl game has taken Horned Frog Pride to a news level.

Kristi Hoban: This is huge for TCU. This is just a culmination of all the bowls that we've been going to. There are twenty-thousand plus fans that bought tickets just from TCU. We have an alumni package and we have eight charter flights just from our package and then people are driving and coming from all over the US.

Shelley Kofler: How are you going to make your presence known in Pasadena?

Hoban: Well I think the purple. I've been here for two or three days and there's purple everywhere. We have hotels in Beverly Hills, Hollywood. Our pep rally is downtown and were gonna' be hard to miss.

Kofler: One New Year tradition for a lot of people across the country is the Tournament of Roses parade, which is prior to the game. Will we see TCU in the parade?

Hoban: The TCU band will be marching in the parade with the cheerleaders and showgirls and super frog. It's my understanding there are only two college bands in the entire parade us and Wisconsin.

Kofler: You're going into this game with a perfect twelve and zero record. Which I'm sure you're extremely proud of but last year you played in the Fiesta Bowl. You had a perfect record when you went into the game with Boise, but Boise came out ahead. I'm guessing that maybe this is an opportunity for redemption.

Hoban: I think the frogs are going to be ready. The teams get just better and better. The players get more experience with these kinds of venues and our guys want this. And I just think this going be a great day for the Frogs.
