Dallas, TX – The Texas appliance rebate program is on again. If you tried but failed to take advantage of it last spring, you get another chance.
Allen Spelce, with the State Comptroller's office, says there are 10 million dollars left over from the previous 23-million dollar rebate program.
Allen Spelce, Texas Comptroller spokesperson: We'll do a mail-in as opposed to using the internet sign up or phone bank system. We consulted and talked to other states that have also implemented rebate programs. and this is what we have found to be the most simplest, straight forward program for doing an appliance rebate program.
But exact dates and other details are not confirmed. Spelce says the last vendor couldn't handle the overwhelming customer response, upsetting thousands of Texans. So that vendor will only get a third of its fee. A different company will handle the new program. The new program will officially start in December or January.
