Dallas, TX –

Tonight's the big night for the TCU Horned Frogs. They hope to make it a perfect, 13-0 season with a victory over Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona. KERA's BJ Austin says back home, Fort Worth is showing its support by going "purple".

Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief called on everyone to wear purple on game day to show support for TCU. Across the street from campus, Steve Levering headed into Dutch's Burgers for lunch. He was decked out in a purple TCU cap and purple shirt. Levering says it's not just Fort Worth and the Fiesta Bowl Phoenix-area revved up for the Horned Frogs. He says TCU is the buzz even in his home state, Alabama, which itself is headed to the BCS championship bowl.

Levering: Went back to Alabama to visit relatives over Christmas and they were all excited, too. So, it was fun to see even Alabama folks getting excited over TCU's success. That was sweet to see.

At the campus bookstore, Marie Galman was shopping for a TCU Horned Frogs shirt for her high school daughter to wear. Galman says this is a big deal for TCU and Fort Worth.

Galman: very exciting for the town. It brings us into national recognition, which is good for Fort Worth and good for the state.

The Fiesta Bowl matchup with Boise State is TCU's first BCS, or Bowl Championship Series, appearance. And a win will give the third-ranked Horned Frogs an undefeated season for the first time since 1938.

Mayor Moncrief says the national attention on TCU and Fort Worth is priceless.
