9/11 Sculpture Finds New Home In Oak Cliff

By Ilan Goddard

Dallas, TX – Tomorrow morning at Oak Cliff's Bank Tower, a 23-foot tall sculpture made of metal from the World Trade Center Towers will be the centerpiece of a ceremony honoring the victims of the 9/11 attacks.

Titled "The Gates," the sculpture will consist of two pieces. The first, now in place, will eventually be accompanied by another more than twice as tall.

North Carolina artist Jim Gallucci says "The Gates" symbolize passage - a physical, emotional, and spiritual movement from one space or consciousness to another.

Ralph Isenberg, who owns The Bank Tower, paid $20,000 to have the 5-ton sculpture brought to Texas and installed outside the bank. The ceremony will begin at 8:45.
