Dallas, TX – In Dallas, 175 local leaders are wrapping up a two-day conference on "leadership" during disasters.

The conference is organized by the Centers for Disease Control Foundation. It's President, Charles Stokes says the timing is certainly right with H1N1, or swine flu, cases still spreading.

Stokes: We don't yet know for sure how deadly it is. And it's getting ready to head south of the equator for the flu season down there. And it will circle back this fall to the United States. If it's changed by then, we could still be in serious trouble. So, this is a perfect time for Dallas to come together to see what they can do be make this community more resilient moving forward.

45 emergency leadership conferences are planned for cities across the U.S.. Dallas is #8.
