Dallas, TX – After five long days recounting more than 40,000 ballots in Texas House District 105, incumbent Republican Linda Harper-Brown retained her seat and a 20 vote lead. But Democratic challenger Bob Romano might still make a play for the office. KERA's Bill Zeeble reports.

Harper-Brown actually picked up a vote, but so did challenger Romano. He could still take is his case to the House of Representatives next month for them to consider seating him instead of the incumbent. With the Republican win, the party will maintain the slimmest majority in the State House.

Democrats are still pursuing a federal lawsuit tied to differences in how early votes are counted. Rules for counting straight party and individual votes on electronic ballots during early voting are different than when counting paper ballots cast on Election Day.
