Dallas, TX – One of the dozen defendants in the public corruption investigation at Dallas City Hall is going to prison in an unrelated case.

Federal Judge Barbara Lynn sentenced Darren Reagan, 48, to one year in federal prison. In June, a jury found him guilty of stealing $45,000 in rental assistance payments from the Dallas Housing Authority.

This case is not directly related to the City Hall investigation, in which Reagan is charged with extortion, money laundering and tax evasion. That trial is set for January. The Judge has requested that Reagan be jailed in the Dallas-Fort Worth area so he can help his lawyers prepare his defense.
