Dallas, TX – AT&T says the move will begin immediately and be completed by the end of the year: 700 executives and corporate staff will relocate to AT&T's existing offices on Akard in downtown Dallas. Some 5,000 technical jobs will stay in San Antonio. Robert Chereck, Chairman of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, says Dallas had the whole package for AT&T executives.
Chereck: It's a good economy. It's a good physical location. It's a great area. It's a good business environment. And it's a city government and a city council that can-do and wants to promote business. Those are the clinchers that got them to move here.
Chereck says snagging AT&T's international headquarters is a great shot in the arm to the Dallas economy.
