Dallas, TX – Arlington Fire-Rescue Assistant Chief Alan Kassen says the crane was one MANY on the huge stadium construction. It was outside the main perimeter of the billion dollar stadium - at the east end zone plaza, closest to the Rangers Stadium.

Kassen: The were demobilizing the crane. They were basically taking the crane down. My understanding is they were at the very last section of the crane, which was at the most about 30 to 40 feet in the air. It toppled for whatever reason. We have three patients. As I understand it, one is critical the others are in stable condition.

Chief Kassen says the worker in critical condition was air-lifted to Baylor Hospital.

A 37 year old Irving man was killed Wednesday in Dallas when the large HOOK on a crane snapped-off the crane and plummeted to the ground. OSHA, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, will investigate both crane accidents.
