Stone was a lover of the arts who held leadership positions at organizations such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

Current and formerly unhoused writers and artists find resources at the Stewpot in downtown Dallas, but they've also found a place to share their personal stories and paintings in the new book "Thy Neighbor."

The Arts Community Alliance is awarding $650,000 in Catalyst Grants to high performing nonprofit art organizations across Dallas.

The donation is a “historic moment” for the 48-year-old arts nonprofit.

Art leaders learned about human-centered design, the use of emerging technologies in live performance and how to leverage AI for audience insights.

The group of small art organizations includes the Representa Foundation, The Writer’s Garret and kNOwBOX dance among others.

A TACA veteran and SMU grad, Maura Sheffler has been filling in as executive director ever since Terry Loftis left last December for the Dallas Symphony.
