Representative Ron Wright died in February after he tested positive for COVID-19. A whopping 23 candidates are running in the special election to replace him: 11 Republicans, 10 Democrats, a Libertarian and an Independent. The district covers part of the cities of Arlington and Fort Worth, and a large rural territory covering Waxahachie, Ennis, Corsicana, and Eureka.
