Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Thursday that his office will investigate the University of North Texas.

The complaints are being reviewed by the Texas Education Agency, but some firings and suspensions have already occurred independently at Texas schools throughout the state.

Residents spoke forcefully and tearfully Tuesday night as they took to City Hall to air grievances and call for unity from Fort Worth City Council members in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death.

A teachers group said the district placed a long time teacher on administrative leave for re-sending two Facebook posts about Charlie Kirk, the young conservative activist murdered last week while speaking on a Utah campus.

“We are all Charlie Kirk,” speakers say at a rally for the Turning Point USA founder who was killed Sept. 10.

UNT President Harrison Keller said the university is reviewing the incident.

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed last week at Utah Valley University. Authorities have called the killing a “political assassination.”
