A special appeals court ruled evidence did not support allegations that Givens allowed her court coordinator to impersonate her during a virtual hearing nor that Givens intentionally put a man in jail and revoked another’s bond after she recused herself from their cases.

Former judge Amber Givens defeats incumbent Dallas County DA John Creuzot in a major primary upset after running a low-budget campaign. Creuzot conceded the race Wednesday.

Despite the incumbent district attorney raising more in contributions than his challenger, Givens was ahead in the unofficial vote tally Wednesday morning.

Dallas County primary elections have nearly 200 races and almost two dozen propositions on the Republican and Democratic ballots.
