Top Stories: Flood Watch In North Texas; Meet Dallas Cultural Affairs Office Leader

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: Crews in helicopters and boats are searching Owl Creek in Central Texas for four soldiers missing after a truck overturned in high water at Fort Hood. In North Texas, scattered showers and isolated storms will continue through Friday night.

The Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs has a new director, Jennifer Scripps, who  started work last week. Scripps sat down to talk about the arts, budgets and master plans.

  • The Continental Avenue Bridge will become the Ambassador Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. On Saturday morning, Dallas city officials will gather to dedicate the bridge over the Trinity River.
