Top Stories: Texas School Board Candidate Mary Lou Bruner Wants To Get Back To Basics In Schools

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Mary Lou Bruner has generated headlines nationwide for controversial Facebook posts she’s made through the years. In part two of this story, KERA's Christopher Connelly reports that the headlines have been dramatic, but that if Bruner wins, the impact in schools could be limited.

State regulators have approved Dallas businessman Ray Hunt's $18 billion buyout of Oncor. The company serves more than three million Texans with power. Thursday’s approval comes with several conditions, though.
