From The Newsroom: President Of Open Carry Texas Talks Gun Laws; Powerball Mania Hits North Texas

The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: On Friday, a judge threw out the lawsuit by a former employee who was trying to have Dallas District Attorney Susan Hawk removed from her job. 

Prosecutor Cindy Stormer was fired in September, while Hawk was on leave for psychiatric treatment. In the suit, Stormer alleged Hawk was incompetent to do her job and accused her of misconduct.

In part two of this week’s Friday Conversation, the president of the group “Open Carry Texas,” CJ Grisham talked about his reaction to President Obama’s plans to take executive action.

The Powerball jackpot is up to $800 million for Saturday's drawing. In North Texas,  people people are getting excited about the possibility of striking it rich.
