From The Newsroom: Arlington And Rangers Detail 'Texas Live!' Plan; How Toys Help Kids' Motor Skills

The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: Officials with the city of Arlington and the Texas Rangers detailed plans for a new multi-million dollar development across the street from Globe Life Park.

Tuesday, the city council approved the project, called “Texas Live!” The $200 million dollar entertainment complex will feature shops, restaurants, an upscale hotel and an annex for the Arlington Convention Center.

The constantly growing Catholic Diocese of Dallas will have a new assistant bishop, courtesy of the Pope. KERA’s Bill Zeeble reports word came Wednesday from Rome that Monsignor John Gregory Kelly was named bishop.

A UT Arlington professor has published research showing how specific toys and items in the home can help children develop motor skills. KERA’s Lauren Silverman reports on what parents might look for in baby toys this season.
