From The Newsroom: Oak Lawn Area Attacks Increase; Working With The Homeless

The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: Oak Lawn has seen a string of violent attacks, and were two more over the weekend. That brings the total number of assaults in the area to 11 in recent weeks. In the weekend attacks, victims said their attackers robbed them and used anti-gay slurs.

Krys Boyd talked with Reverend Bruce Buchanan who runs The Stewpot in downtown Dallas and documentarian Alan Governor whose new film puts the organization in the spotlight

And, A beloved puppeteer who entertained North Texans for generations has died. John Hardman was 80 years old.

He was the longtime Scrooge at NorthPark Center in Dallas, hurling insults at holiday shoppers who laughed along. He also was the mastermind behind the "World on a String" puppet show at the State Fair of Texas.
