Top Stories: More Rain For A Soaked North Texas; Exploring Mavericks’ Hostile Workplace

National Weather Service
A flood watch is in effect for North Texas through Saturday morning.

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: A new flood watch has been issued for essentially the entire, already-rain soaked Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The National Weather Service expects additional waves of showers and thunderstorms Friday and into Saturday. The combination of moderate to heavy rainfall rates and near or completely saturated grounds will result in continued rapid runoff which will lead to flooding.

The rain's already caused problems across Dallas-Fort Worth.

More than a dozen homes in Rockwall were evacuated Thursday because of flooding.

Meanwhile, thousands of homes in Parker, Wise, Tarrant, Grayson and Collin counties lost power Thursday.

And heavy rainfall caused sanitary sewer overflows at several locations throughout Dallas. Dallas Water Utilities said none of the overflows of diluted wastewater have affected the city’s water supply.
