Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant today silently stood next to his mother as his attorney said Angela Bryant does not want to file family violence charges against her son.

Nine days ago Ms. Bryant called DeSoto police saying her son had hit her across the face and torn her clothing.  Bryant turned himself into police though he has not been charged.

Attorney Royce West today read a statement saying mother and son had a disagreement but the wide receiver had not committed a crime.

Prosecutors could still charge 23-year old Bryant with a misdemeanor and the National Football League could penalize him.

The Dallas County District Attorney’s office confirmed the affidavit was passed on to the DA, where the case may or may not result in dismissal.
