The top local stories this morning from KERA News: There’s been strong early voting turnout in the 10 Texas counties with the highest number of registered voters, including Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties. This time, Democrats outvoted Republicans.
Democratic turnout more than doubled from four years ago, while Republican turnout rose less than 15 percent. When you factor in population growth, Republican turnout was largely unchanged. Democratic turnout increased in nearly all 10 counties, except Hidalgo County, which saw a 1 percent drop in early Democratic voter turnout from 2014.
