There is a chance of light sleet and possibly snow moving into the western and northwestern parts of Dallas-Fort Worth in the next few hours, the National Weather Service in Fort Worth says.
Temperatures remain above freezing, so any precipitation likely won't accumulate.
A strong cold front has sent the mild temperatures from this morning into the 40s and 30s across the region this afternoon. Gusty north winds will make it feel like it's in the lower 20s by late afternoon.
Take precautions
Frigid temperatures will be hanging out through the weekend. The weather service advises folks to protect pipes, people, plants and pets — the Four P's, if you will.
