Top Stories: Mother Gives Birth With Transplanted Uterus; The Kimbell's Cassanova Exhibit

A woman who had been born without a uterus gave birth to a baby at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Hospital spokesman Craig Civale confirmed Friday that the birth had taken place. The hospital has had a study underway for several years to enroll up to 10 women for uterus transplants.

  • A new program known as “cite and release” goes into effect today in the city of Dallas. The program gives police the option to give a person possessing less than 4 ounces of marijuana a citation to appear in court and let them go, instead of taking them to jail. As KERA’s Lauren Silverman reports, it might sound like a simple ticket, but it’s more complicated than that.

  • The Kimbell Art Museum has devoted an entire exhibition to one man who wasn't really an artist. Casanova.  Why is the famous seducer worth this attention? Today in State of the Arts, Jerome Weeks sat down with Ian Kelly, author of a celebrated biography, to find out.
