The top local stories this morning from KERA News: The Texas House are expected to vote this morning on its second sunset bill - which would keep some state agencies operating. They're also expected to vote on one of the anti-abortion measures and a bill on local tree ordinances.

The Senate is off today. The chamber's passed most of the items on the Governor's special session agenda.

  • Some of the agenda items for the current special session in Texas mirrors what's happening in states across the country. That’s according to findings from the Pew Charitable Trust's Stateline project, which analyzes legislative trends in state governments.
  • The latest work from the Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet is inspired by surf culture and the surf movies from the ‘60s.
