The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans today will take up a legal challenge on an obscure provision in the Texas Election Code.
Interpreters helping someone cast a ballot have to be registered to vote in the same county in which they're providing help. That provision's been on hold since last year when a judge ruled it violated the federal Voting Rights Act.
