Top Stories: Most Texas School Districts Lack Sex Education; Fort Worth Opera Leader Out

A new study finds that more than four-fifths of Texas school districts teach no sex education or offer curricula focusing solely on abstinence, despite Texas being among the nation's teen pregnancy leaders.

His new book, “Dark at the Crossing,” explores the Syrian revolution through the eyes of a former Iraqi translator.   • In our weekly look at life on the financial edge, One Crisis Away, we dig into why women often walk a rougher road than men when it comes to economic stability. A new report from the Dallas Women’s Foundation, the Austin-based Center for Public Policy Priorities, and Texas Woman’s University shows 17 percent of Texas women live in poverty – compared to 14 percent of men. Reporter Courtney Collins sat down with Executive Producer Jeff Whittington to break down the numbers.
