Choreographer Danielle Georgiou is known in North Texas for bold and often provocative work about feminism, sexuality and culture. Each week in Art&Seek’s Artist Spotlight series, we follow the personal journey of a North Texas creative. 

This week, reporter Hady Mawajdeh goes to rehearsals to learn about Georgiou’s most recent work.

  • Dallas Black Dance Theatre has hired a new artistic director – only the third in the company’s 40 years. North Texas native Bridget L. Moore was selected and begins February 1. 
  • Former Texas Governor Rick Perry says he now regrets recommending the elimination of the Department of Energy when he ran for president in 2011. Perry appeared at a Senate confirmation hearing Thursday.
