A social justice group called the Center for Social Innovation will be in Dallas today to discuss race and homelessness in a series by Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance.
According to the center, 70 percent of the homeless population in Dallas is African-American. Nationally, black people are 16 times more likely to live in shelters than white people, and black men tend to remain homeless longer than white men.
